It’s good to be back!

book today

2020 has certainly brought some challenges for everyone with covid-19 having a huge impact on us all.  Here at Maddybenny, we made the most of the quiet period during lockdown when our accommodation was closed for guests, using our time to complete some maintenance work and upgrades as well as making some changes to how we run our business in order to help keep our guests safe moving forward.

Whilst it was nice to spend time at home with the family for a while we were incredibly excited to be able to welcome guests again at the end of June when it was deemed safe to do so – it was awful quiet without you!

A little bit about us:

Maddybenny has been part of our family since the 1950’s, we currently have 3 generations living and working on the farm and we love sharing our little haven on the Causeway Coast.

On the farm we have brothers Philip and Fred White who look after the manual labour side of things, Philip is in charge of the riding centre and livery yard and keeps the farm ticking along.   You are sure to see him either on a horse or in a tractor at some point during your stay. Philip’s wife Eavan manages the caravan and campsite as well as the Airbnb accommodation onsite.  Their daughter Tegan, her husband Cian and children Tom (2) and Cora (10 months) also live on the farm.

Fred is certainly a handy man to have around; aptly named ‘Fred will fix it’ he is the man in charge of the maintenance and repairs on site.  His wife Karen manages the self-catering cottages, she has managed to keep her New Zealand accent despite living in Northern Ireland for 23 years just please don’t ask if she’s an Aussie. Their children Brendon and Anna also live on site with Anna’s partner Jason and another of the 3rd generation expected later in the year.

Being a family-run business we understand what is important for the families who come to stay with us with lots to see and do here on the farm and in the local area.  We hope to provide a warm and welcome stay for all of our guests for the months and years ahead.  Usually we like to interact with our guests and have made life-long friends who return to stay year on year.  Due to covid-19 however, we have been operating contactless check in and check out and will be continuing in this manner going forward whilst the guidelines remain in place but we’ll be sure to give you a socially distanced hello.
